The Circus Flora Board of Directors is thrilled to announce two major milestones for the organization: the naming of a new Managing Director and the commitment to a 34th season of world-class magic. Karen Shoulders, a well-known name in the community for her years as Circus Flora’s Director of Development, is now the Managing Director. Additionally, Circus Flora just announced the dates for its new season; an all-new show will dazzle audiences under the Big Top from June 4 to June 28, 2020.

“Circus Flora’s success is built on incredible support from St. Louisans, as well as the hard work of our small but tireless leadership team,” said Mary Ann Srenco, President of the Circus Flora Board of Directors. “Year after year, Karen has given her time, talent, and energy to this one-of-a-kind organization. Her people skills and passion will make her an excellent Managing Director.”

Circus Flora is a resident organization of the Kranzberg Arts Foundation, a community-driven foundation dedicated to providing local arts organizations the infrastructure and resources necessary for the arts to thrive in St. Louis. Thanks to the generosity of the Foundation and its founders, Nancy and Ken Kranzberg, Circus Flora moved into its permanent Big Top home on Washington Boulevard in 2018. The nonprofit circus doesn’t just delight audience members during the regular season; it also provides community outreach such as the “Clowns on Call” program at local children’s hospitals, offers a stellar venue for partner events like Urban Chestnut Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest, and serves the presenter for amazing limited-run shows like the upcoming Cirque Dreams Holidaze at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

While the name and theme of the new show have yet to be announced, Circus Flora fans can count on it being inventive, funny, and breathtaking. Artistic Director Jack Marsh and Theatrical Director Cecil MacKinnon always assemble the most impressive group of performers from around the globe, attempting feats that grow more daring and beautiful each year.
